Hiway Credit Union announced the opening of its newest branch location, in Woodbury, Minnesota on Saturday, June 25.

The grand opening event included a ribbon cutting ceremony with Hiway CEO Dave Boden, Hiway Board Chair Jeff Schwalen, Branch manager Elizabeth Villa along with Woodbury Mayor Anne Burt. Hiway leadership, Woodbury residents and St. Paul Chamber representatives from around the metro were also on hand to welcome guests and to share in the festivities.

“We are thrilled to bring our newest Hiway branch to the Woodbury community,” said Boden. “Our roots go back to over 90 years and as our communities have expanded, so has how we serve our members, including adding additional branch locations first in Roseville and now to Woodbury. Even though technology allows our members to do almost everything they need online, we still want to be where are members are so we can better serve them, and we can be there to assist them with whatever their financial needs are.”

This is Hiway’s second new branch in about a year; the St. Paul-based credit union opened up its Roseville location, on Fairview Ave., in June of 2021. The Woodbury location’s design and staffing model is similar to Roseville, featuring intuitive, associate-supported Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), a branch manager, a team of universal service representatives, and a mortgage advisor. In addition, the branch includes many safety and sustainability features, including, touchless bathroom fixtures, AtmosAir ionization technology, free-to-all EV chargers, and solar arrays, coming soon.

Eden Prairie-based HTG Architects served as Hiway’s design partner, and Roseville-based Carlson-LaVine was the general contractor.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, guests were served pizza from Ronnally’s Pizza and Pasta, one of Woodbury’s oldest locally owned and operated restaurants and Hiway’s next-door neighbor. The event also included a variety of games and activities, along with Minnesota Wild mascot Nordy and St. Paul Saints mascot Mudonna.
