Hiway’s Tina Jones was recently named the Minnesota Credit Union Network Outstanding Credit Union Professional of the Year during a ceremony held virtually during the recent MnCUN 2020 Annual Conference.
Jones has been with Hiway for over 21 years, beginning as a receptionist and being promoted into various other roles before landing in her current position as Community Outreach Administrator. Currently, she oversees the credit union’s financial literacy outreach, Hiway’s four high school branch locations (Johnson, Harding, Highland and Como) and other community involvement efforts.
A well-respected advocate for financial education for the community’s youth and adults and a passionate and knowledgeable presenter and spokesperson, Jones is involved in a number of community initiatives and programs including:
- Co-Chair for the Hiway Credit Union Foundation
- Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy
- National Youth Involvement Board
- Sub-committee member for the City of Saint Paul’s CSA Accounts
- Chair for the Saint Paul Schools, CTE Academy of Finance
- Best Prep Ambassador, Best Prep, Volunteer Engagement Committee
- Hiway’s Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee
Previously, Jones had been awarded and recognized for her extraordinary dedication and commitment to community involvement. She earned a Service Award from the Minnesota Federal Executive Board for dedication serving Federal employees; was honored by Junior Achievement as the High School Volunteer of the Year; the MACTA, Advisory Board Member of the Year; and Hiway Credit Union, Employee Service Award for going above and beyond to demonstrate Hiway’s mission.

Tina has also completed the National Credit Union Development Education Program (CUDE), the National Credit Union Foundation Certified Credit Union Counselor program and the City of Saint Paul’s Leadership Saint Paul Program.
