Hiway is rewarding its member-facing associates, as well as associates who have been stepping in to work in a member-facing capacity, with 20 percent bonus pay for their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic.
“As an essential service, we remain fully operational and here to serve,” said Dave Boden, Hiway’s President/CEO. “This is just a small way to say thank you to those, who are, quite literally, on the front lines for our members. Many people are still working here in the offices—some in direct member contact roles, some on the phones—and we have others working at home to help members. We’re all in this together to ensure everyone is getting the service and the help they need.”
In addition to the “bonus pay,” Hiway has taken a number of additional steps to ensure they are taking care of their associates’ physical and mental health, including even more vigorous building cleanings, enacting social distancing, and schedule flexibility/remote work options.
Hiway closed its lobbies to general traffic on March 19 but continues to serve its members and the community via appointments, branch drive-thrus, a 24/7 call center, and digital channels.
Hiway continues to offer a variety of assistance to those financially affected by the pandemic including; payment deferrals on Hiway loan(s); loan modifications on Hiway loans; emergency, low-rate hardship loans; and hardship fee waivers. Members are encouraged to call to discuss options for their specific situations.
“We have long been committed to working with our members along their ‘road of life,’ even—or maybe especially—when that road gets difficult,” added Boden. “Now more than ever, we’re here to support our associates, our members and our communities.”
