Unfortunately, there are always those who are looking to take advantage of people down on their luck. In a recent government report, unemployment scams are on the rise and several states continued to be targeted by these fraudsters.

These scammers don’t just want to gain access to an individual’s account, they will also try to send a person (known as money mules) funds that they’ve collected unlawfully and then have that individual return some of it back to them thus making the recipient part of their scam.

These so called “money mules” are then liable for the illegal money that is in their account. Check out the following FBI article for further details and some helpful guidelines for avoiding money mule scams.
