We are proud to announce the launch of Hiway Credit Union Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded to build upon Hiway’s tradition of philanthropy and our commitment to be “With You on the Road of Life.” Hiway Credit Union Foundation will aim to increase support of families, servicemembers, veterans, schools, disaster relief efforts and community initiatives through education, scholarships, in-kind support and volunteerism.

For more than 85 years, Hiway has served, supported and strengthened the financial lives and overall wellness of our members and those within our local community. Hiway has contributed more than $500,000 to Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare since 1997 and our associates have a long history of volunteering in the community. Hiway also has supported financial literacy efforts in the schools for more than 12 years, delivering hundreds of presentations and reaching thousands of students.

“Hiway Credit Union Foundation allows us to further the “people helping people” credit union philosophy,” said Dave Boden, Hiway President/CEO. “We can engage our associates, members, business partners and others to participate and contribute – ultimately allowing us to extend our reach and help more people in our community. The Foundation will also continue Hiway’s valuable partnerships with the Saint Paul Right Track program, the Sanneh Foundation, United Heroes League and others as we all work together for social good.”

“By establishing Hiway Credit Union Foundation, we have an excellent opportunity to provide even more resources to our community,” said Pam Tschida, Hiway Board Chair. “I am very excited about our Foundation because of the positive impact it can have on so many individuals and families. Our associates at Hiway are already enthusiastically participating in the Foundation by volunteering their time and by making regular monetary contributions. It’s really a win/win for everyone.”

Hiway associates have already begun contributing to Hiway Credit Union Foundation through elective payroll deduction for Foundation Fridays, which gives associates the option to wear jeans on Fridays. Hiway members, business partners and those in the community are also encouraged to make charitable donations to help Hiway Credit Union Foundation make a greater impact in the community.

“As a financial cooperative, Hiway has long been dedicated to strengthening the communities we serve and helping people is at the core of our mission and vision,” said Christine Cordell, Hiway Senior Vice President of Strategy and Transformation and Hiway Credit Union Foundation Board Chair. “Through the Foundation, we will continue to turn our words into action, investing in our neighbors and their long-term financial wellbeing.”
