Serve. Support. Strengthen.
Hiway established the Hiway Credit Union Foundation to build upon our tradition to be “With You on the Road of Life.” For more than 90 years, Hiway has strengthened the financial lives of our members and served its communities through volunteerism and financial support. By forming an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Hiway Credit Union Foundation aims to increase our support through tax-deductible charitable donations and volunteer opportunities in our community.
Our Mission
Passionately providing resources to enhance the overall wellness of the community.
Our Vision
To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve through education, scholarships, in-kind support and volunteerism.
We impact families, servicemembers, veterans, schools, disaster relief efforts and community initiatives.
Through the Foundation, we aim to empower communities to build and strengthen their financial lives.
Our History
Hiway was an early contributor to Credit Unions for Kids, which raises funds for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) affiliated hospitals, and is the top Minnesota credit union contributor — raising more than $500,000 since 1997. Funds have been raised through associates paying to wear jeans on select days, summer cookouts, raffle tickets and more.
Since the early 1990s, Hiway associates have organized various opportunities to help our community through donations and volunteering. Efforts include collecting school supplies, making and serving meals at Ronald McDonald House, collecting clothing for homeless youth shelters and making care packages for troops overseas.
Hiway has supported financial literacy efforts in the schools for more than a decade, delivering hundreds of presentations and reaching more than 4,000 students since 2016.
