Hiway Scholarship Winner Announced
(St. Paul, MN) April 10, 2006 – The Minnesota Family Involvement Council (MNFIC) awarded Buffalo High School senior Melissa Manns, 18, of Loretto, MN, a $500 college scholarship.
Manns is the granddaughter of Hiway Federal Credit Union (Hiway) member, Gert Moritz. She is one of 18 MNFIC scholarship recipients and was considered among over 800 applicants for the 2006-2007 school year.
Hiway and the Minnesota Credit Union Network partner with MNFIC to offer scholarships. All are committed to promoting financial awareness, financial education and full-family involvement in Minnesota's credit unions. MNFIC is also committed to education and began offering college scholarships to credit union members and their families in 1995. The scholarship is essay-based, however applicants are also judged on creativity, relevance and involvement.
