Hiway Honors Dassel-Cokato Student

(St. Paul, Minnesota) April 15, 2008 – Hiway Federal Credit Union (Hiway) is pleased to join with the MN Department of Public Safety in recognizing Jennifer Bistodeau, a fifth-grader at Dassel-Cokato Middle School, whose poster was chosen to represent Minnesota in the National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest in Washington, D.C. This is the first year Minnesota has participated in the national contest, which now includes 26 states.

The state contest was sponsored by the MN Department of Public Safety—this year's theme is "Bring Our Missing Children Home." Matthew Warzala of Hiway Federal Credit Union presented Jennifer a check for $250 to assist her in saving for education.

The national winner will be honored at the National Missing Children's Day event in a Washington, D.C. ceremony in May, and the poster will serve as the pictorial theme for all commemorative events. The contest is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice.

"All the posters illustrate how creatively children can express the impact of missing children on our communities," said Michael Campion, commissioner of the Department of Public Safety. "The contest may prompt teachers and parents to take a few minutes to reinforce safety messages. We all want every child to come home safely every day."
