Teller (Part-Time)

Hours: Monday and Friday, 9:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.

Responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person and through the mail including, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, official checks, money orders and other financial transactions. Contributes to the success of the credit union by actively cross-selling credit union products and services. Ensures credit union compliance by adhering to all Federal regulations, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions.
    1. Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner. Maintains privacy of member information.
    2. Receives share deposits and loan payments.
    3. Processes cash advances, traveler’s checks, official checks, money orders and other financial transactions.
    4. Disburses cash or check withdrawals.
    5. Processes transfers.
    6. Verifies transactions. Monitors deposit amounts and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
    7. Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals against deposit slips or other documentation within the 15 minute allotted timeframe and with 100% accuracy.
    8. Responds to all other member requests.
    9. Actively cross-sells credit union products and services.
    10. Adheres to all credit union policies and procedures.
  2. Assumes responsibility for acquiring and maintaining advanced knowledge of title industry procedures and regulations.
  3. Assumes responsibility for acquiring and maintaining advanced knowledge of credit union products, services, promotions and marketing materials.
  4. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers and management.
    1. Supports and promotes team spirit by assisting others in the department and in other areas of the credit union when applicable.
    2. Keeps manager informed of department activities and any significant problems or concerns.
    3. Promotes an environment free of harassment and demonstrates sensitivity for cultural differences.
  5. Assumes responsibility for promoting and supporting a safe work environment.
    1. Promotes security by responding to suspicious behavior or activities.
    2. Adheres to all credit union procedures and policies.
    3. Uses equipment and materials properly.
  6. Assumes responsibility for all other duties as assigned by manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous financial service and/or credit union experience preferred.

Skills/Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Well organized, efficient, detail-oriented and able to work independently and as a member of a team. Able to read and comprehend at the basic level. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Other Requirements: Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate the changing needs of the credit union. Regular attendance is required for this position.

Card Services Rep I

Assists members in a courteous and professional manner while maintaining efficiency and accuracy regarding all Card Services functions. Responsible for servicing members’ needs by processing credit, debit, and/or ATM card transactions. Provides account information to members. Contributes to the success of the credit union by actively cross-selling credit union products and services. Ensures credit union compliance by adhering to all regulations, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. Assumes responsibility for Card Services functions:
    1. Open new VISA/ELMC accounts and issue new cards, process file maintenance requests such as name and address changes, replacement cards and request to close accounts.
    2. Responsible for daily opening/closing and transfers/withdrawals under assigned teller number.
    3. Research and resolve member inquires regarding account statements, disputes, and monetary adjustments, post adjustments as needed.
    4. Actively cross-sells credit union products and services.
    5. Investigate fraudulent transactions, cancels L/S cards and advises appropriate staff.
    6. Gather monthly payment totals.
    7. Responsible for return mail.
    8. Monthly debit reports such as BETS, 118, etc.
    9. Handle e-mail from DI.
    10. Process payments (tap tran) and perform cash advances.
    11. Establish new memberships and seeks to maximize product and service usage with new and existing members of the credit union.
    12. Assist members in selecting ATM/ELMC PIN numbers.
    13. Serve as back-up for ATM problems and communicate between credit union and ATM vendors.
    14. Keep current on on-line procedures.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office a must. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
