Surcharge-Free Transactions

Use Hiway ATMs state-wide - and you'll pay no surcharge fees. Hiway is also a member of the CO-OP Network which gives you surcharge-free access to over 25,000 ATMs across the United States and Canada. You also have access to surcharge-free ATMs at many Wells Fargo locations through Instant Cash. To avoid a surcharge, the ATM must be located within a Wells Fargo branch.

Helpful hints:

1. View information on types of transactions available and dollar limitations for ATMs.
2. Limit number of transactions by withdrawing larger amounts of money.
3. Look for ATMs that do not surcharge or that charge the least. (Typical surcharges range from $.25 to $2.00)
4. Since balance inquiries and transfers are usually free, you may want to transfer funds into your checking account and then use your ExpressLane Money Card for purchases. Note: While balance inquiries and transfers are usually free, they do count towards the 12 free monthly ATM transactions available with the ExpressLane Money Card. Each ATM transaction over 12 per month incurs a $1.00 fee.

Other tips to safe ATM usage:

• Observe your surroundings before using an ATM. If the machine is obstructed from view or poorly lit, visit another ATM.
• Have your card out and ready to use.
• Shield the screen and keyboard so anyone waiting to use the ATM cannot see you enter your PIN or transaction amount.
• Put your cash, card and receipt away immediately. Count your money later, and always keep your receipt.
